Distracting me from the work I’m supposed to be doing for about five minutes or so: the new Barenaked Ladies video, for Sound Of Your Voice. Who says you can’t get famous on the internet?
I love how BNL is using Youtube to broadcast their new stuff, since there isn’t a tv channel that shows videos any more, and the interface is so accessible – I mean, I love Sarah Harmer as much as anybody, but all of her online video clips require proprietary software. Quicktime movies? Real Player downloads? Just say no.
(I also would have mentioned how Sarah’s appearing in the City That Never Wakes tomorrow, with a screening of her Escarpment Blues documentary film in the downtown ’shopping’ mall cinema across from the collection agency I worked at for two weeks, and what a landmark cultural event this is for a dump like Brantford, but again – frames website, nothing to link to. Sarah, I’ll re-do your site. You deserve better. I know all the HTML tags AND all your lyrics. Very qualified.)
