I know, I know
When I’m working on a new site look, I can’t actually post to that site until it’s ready, deployed, uploaded and live. It’s a weird thing, but that’s how it goes.
So that’s how I explain why I haven’t posted to the mighty A1 since Christmas – it’s a redesign! Took me forever, having scrapped at least three other distinct looks along the way, but hey. My readership is a discerning lot. I have a reputation to live up to. And so on.
One of my goals for this year is to become a serious WordPress user. Having seen what other content management systems can do, and with a couple years of WP experience under my belt, I can comfortably say that there’s no other backend that does things as quickly and with as much power, while remaining suitable for virtually any use, from your average weblog to busy multi-user and multi-environment setups.
As such, I’ll be fiddling around with this site off and on, with the hope that I can take full advantage of the features that are built into WordPress, and those that are available through plugins, hacks and other PHP hoohah.
And then hopefully I can turn this knowledge into some sort of professional pursuit – have we talked about how I have to get a full-time job this year? Goodness. We have much to discuss.
