back to it
So I had this wise idea that I’d spend all my tax refund dollars on computer stuff.
And here I am, breaking the bank with hardware. Formatted my machine to take care of all my crappy old software issues, and I’m feeling all shiny and new. To review:
- The Comstar 80 gig external hard drive was a good purchase.
Future Shop sales drones are completely unknowledgeable as a general rule, but my particular drone did let on that Comstar is only in the business of buying surplus stock from other suppliers, putting a case on top of the old, and reselling as their own stuff. Sure enough, the one I bought identifies in Windows XP as a Samsung drive, which is fine by me.
- Hauled an LG 19″ flatscreen LCD monitor home from PC Cyber, and am very pleased to have finally replaced my old CRT, which worked well enough but was just too big. I’d be remiss if I don’t mention that PC Cyber has these monitors on for sale at a great price, but at the same time, I now have overstock myself. 17 inch CRT monitor, slightly used, fifty bucks! Internet as marketplace.
- And some memory. I can’t think of anything exciting to say about a stick of RAM.
With all these extras, I can actually use Photoshop again. Perhaps a green theme for the mighty A1Great, in time for Saint Patrick’s? Perhaps not. No promises.
