Having a hard time writing these days. I think words belong on a short list of things that I do well, and when sentences aren’t working for me, it’s a bummer. So I’m just gonna throw stuff out there, we’ll see if anything gets rolling.
- My new HTC Touch is probably part of the problem. The device itself is pretty good, plenty of spare memory and a beautiful screen that feels just fine in my hand, and of course there’s tons of applications to be downloaded for the Windows Mobile platform, which adds features that the device itself lacks. All of this comes courtesy of my friends at TELUS Mobility, who have once again given me everything I’ve asked for – discounted device, no dropped calls, and promotional rate plans at a third of the price of what they advertise on the market for the suckers who pay full price.
- Porchlight pal Kathleen Edwards has a new website, and I think it’s beautiful. I generally dislike Flash stuff, and navigation that doesn’t follow normal convention usually bothers me, but the art is nice enough to win me over. The new album, Asking For Flowers, is a keeper. I wish I had bought tickets to her three sold-out shows at the Black Sheep Inn this weekend.
- More music, then: R.E.M. puts new album online via iLike. Never even heard of that site prior to today, but this news made me create an account right away. See? (It says I have no friends yet, which strikes me as a rude thing to say to a new user.)
- Sync your clock to internet servers from the command prompt. Useful.
And finally – go Habs go! I have no idea how this team is managing to win, but first place so late in the season is a beautiful place to be. It seems unlikely that a berth in the Stanley Cup final is in the offing, but it’s nice to dream…
