signs of spring: one of some
A robin joined the other birds that were hanging out in our overgrown crabapple tree this morning.
The tree is in desperate need of a good pruning, so much so that its apples barely reach the size of cranberries and one of its limbs splintered under its own weight this winter. It also tends to hang on to its fruit, which provides the neighborhood birds with stuff to nibble on through the seasons.
So I thought a friendly robin had joined in with his other birdie friends to enjoy some cold apple berry things today, but instead he ended up chasing them all away, and no one got to eat. I guess robins are mean birds.
It might be a little early for bare skin and backyard alcoholism, but I take all this as a sign that spring is coming to Ottawa. Bitchin’.
