I’m always kind of baffled when people try to reach into the past, reaching for someone lost for whatever reason. I’ve both given and received in this scenario this week, and nothing positive came out of any of it, just as I would always tell someone else it would, or wouldn’t… I’m not sure how to end that sentence. But you know what I mean – bad idea.

I sent an e-mail to a former colleague the other day, proposing a bit of business, and I suppose maybe hoping for some sort of reconnection between the two of us – I don’t much like losing the people in my circle, no matter their faults. And you know, I got the brush-off, just like I knew I would! I guess the gut feeling is correct most of the time.

Also baffling was a thought for a blog post during one of my several hours of wakefulness last night. See, I was going to piece together a train of thought that started with those flavoured toothpastes that they sell now, and move onto the career lows that that TV cook Emeril whatever reached while shilling for those toothpastes, and then talk about that BAM catchphrase he uses and why I wouldn’t really want my toothpaste to cause me to shout out loud at any time of the day. Finally, I was going to say something about catchphrases in professional wrestling, because those are the most catchy ones, if you smell what the Rock is cookin’.

But I don’t know if all that holds up, so let’s just forget about it.
